A Certified Rural Health Clinic is inspected periodically
by the State
Health Department following Federal guidelines. Medicare and Medicaid
services are reimbursed at cost of services. The Federal program
is
developed to improve medical access in the rural communities. Annual
audits
and cost report filings with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services
is required. While more regulated than a usual physician office,
the rural
health clinic has been an excellent source of health care for our
communities.
